Hoover's Cooking

I am a fifth generation Texan whose roots run through little places like Pilot Knob, Manchaca & Utley, Texas. The recipes we use here were inspired by both my Mother Dorothy’s Good Cooking and by the styles and flavors that are native throughout Texas itself. My cooking influences are truly multi-cultural Texan - From my Mother’s Home Cooking to Mama Breaux’s East Texas Cajun Cooking.  From BBQ cooked by the Old Pit Bosses to Tex-Mex from my peers at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic School in Austin.There is also a powerful influence in the back drop of Hoover's cooking - A man of great vision & integrity, Harry Akin. He started the Night Hawk Restaurants back in1932. Two of my partners and I are Night Hawk Alumni. Save room for homemade pie or fresh squeezed lemonade and enjoy our "Smoke, Fire & Ice House".
